Wald bedeckt rund 40 Prozent der gesamten Landfläche Europas. Expertinnen und Experten aus ganz Europa zeigen die aktuellen Entwicklungen in der bioökonomischen Forstwirtschaft. Anhand von Praxisbeispielen, unter anderem aus dem Baskenland, Schweden und Tschechien, wird deutlich, wie Innovation, Industrie und Politik zusammenarbeiten können, um Wälder zu bewirtschaften und gleichzeitig die Biodiversität zu bewahren.
Im Anschluss an die Impulse steht der Austausch im Mittelpunkt: In einer interaktiven Diskussion werden zentrale Herausforderungen im Forstsektor aufgegriffen – von ökonomischen Fragen über ökologische Anforderungen bis hin zu strategischen Weichenstellungen.

Forestry is regarded as a key component of the bioeconomy – but what does this actually look like in practice?
This is the question addressed by the @BIO2REG webinar “Forestry and Forest-Based Industry: Advancing Regional Bioeconomy Transitions”, organised by @BIOEAST HUB CR.

Forests cover around 40 per cent of Europe’s total land area. Experts from across Europe will highlight current developments in bioeconomic forestry. Using practical examples, including those from the Basque Country, Sweden and the Czech Republic, they will demonstrate how innovation, industry and policy can work together to manage forests whilst preserving biodiversity.
Following the presentations, the focus will be on discussion: an interactive debate will address key challenges in the forestry sector – from economic issues and ecological requirements to strategic decisions.
