EVENT WILL BE HELD IN ENGLISH. This year´s focus is on stretch-fibers, elastane as well as recycling as a textile and environmental topic which is considered as a major key issue for the global textile industry.
Elastane is currently used as a stretch component in around 80% of all apparel and is almost omnipresent in our clothing; hardly any item can do without it. However, the traditional stretch fiber production requires the application of harmful solvents such as DMAc (dimethylacetamide) and DMF (dimethylformamide) which are about to be restricted in the EU. Therefore, environmentally friendly alternatives are urgently needed.
In the Webinar this topic will be adressed and a holistic overview from the technical, environmental, legal and political perspective will be provided. Potential eco-sound alternatives will be discussed.
